Mike's Birthday

The kids were excited all day getting ready for Mike's birthday party.  Throughout the day Kaiya would randomly squeal, "It's daddy's birthday"!  Mike had to spend the day at school so we spent the day getting ready decorations, cake, dinner and setting up the house.  We had a houseful of friends and family: Grandma and Grandpa Engebretson, Linda, Taylor, Dad, Sam and Mel.  We ate Caribou Chilli, cornbread, Mel's 7 layer bean did (yum!), and she made these cute deviled eggs that looked like chicks (I can't believe I didn't get a pic!).  Mike and I snuck away afterwards to go see The Hunger Games while Linda stayed with the sleeping bears.  Fun Day!

OREO is celebrating 100 years...giant OREO Cookie anyone?

Best seat in the house.

The cake looks scrumptious! What did you think of the movie? I have heard a lot about it, but haven't decided if I want to see it.

Cake was yummy! Movie...well, that's what the birthday boy wanted to see. It was a very well done movie. However, I was completely disturbed by it. The whole concept bothered me. As if the whole theatre full of us were just as awful as the audiences in the movie being entertained by the killing. But...very good if you can get passed how evil mankind can be.
