Happy Holiday Greetings to any friends visiting our blog from our Christmas postcard! Thanks for visiting our little sliver in the world. As you will quickly see, there really isn't a lot of time to blog as posts are few and far between. But...ya just never know when something will pop up. We hope life finds you happy, healthy, and full of the spirit of our Savior at this time of year.
We had a very busy year full of many changes. This Spring (well spring for us is May when we actually see signs of the snow disappearing) we moved back into our very small apartment that we lived in when we were first married. Kaiya's bedroom was a small bathroom off the garage, Camdon got the bedroom to himself, and Mike and I camped out in the living room/kitchen. This was a 6 week adventure that we learned to really love and have fun with. It felt like we were camping out. Amanda and the kids then took off for 7 weeks of travel in Utah, Idaho and Arizona. Luckily, Mike came down once during the summer, but we were all exhausted and extremely excited to be reunited at the end of August and to get busy with life in Fairbanks and another move back into our house.
Mike went from full time student status to full time employee and part time student. He is still working with Siemens Building Technologies and really enjoys his job and the challenges and opportunities it presents. Meanwhile, still continuing his studies at UAF to earn his degree in Electrical Engineering.
Amanda stays very busy taking care of two toddlers and slips in new hobbies and passions (like photography) here and there. She also does a tiny bit of bookkeeping on the side...just because she loves it and a bit of extra cash is also kind of fun.
Kaiya has developed quite a vocabulary and is a very fun little girl to be around...when she's not tired. She loves to paint, play with her dolls, watch Diego, have dance parties with her mom in their princess dresses, and make up new words to songs.
Cam Bear is a whole lot of boy! He became a little guy this year, learning to eat real food, walk...run, communicate a few things through signing...and don't forget a grunting. He LOVES to throw. He's just a big ball of cute fuzzy hair!
Life is full of challenges, but a lot of laughs and love. We're so grateful for all of you who make our life full of happiness and treasured memories! May you be blessed with a prosperous and wonderfully joyful year!
With Love,
Elbert Family
